Self-love
iAspire Yoga Self love

Self-love can be defined as a regard for one’s own well-being and happiness. What the heck does that mean? Is it about bubble baths, pedicures, and cucumber masks? It turns out there is so much more to self-love.

Self-love is not posting selfies on social media and making ourselves the centre of everything.
Self-love is not selfishness and self-centredness but is the spring from which compassion flows.
Self-love is a not a destination; it’s a practice. It is the foundation on which we build a happy life.

The path of self-love is not ignoring ones needs, even if it means upsetting others, if you are not up for big crowds and have had a crazy week, nurture yourself at home with a good book and a glass of red wine or a cup of herbal tea!

Self-love means not to rehash our past mistakes and drag ourselves to a dark place when we know that we can only learn from the past; we can’t change it.
Trusting the path that our soul is on and making a genuine effort to become a conscious co-creator of our destiny is important. Following our gut or intuition instead of living out of our brain and ego.

Learning to set boundaries that protect and nurture our relationships, with ourselves and others. Without self-love, we are unable to receive and pass on the love or abundance that comes to us from friends, family and the universe.
